Two day 'Introduction to AI and ML' workshop in Korçë

AI Albania supported a two day workshop titled “Hyrje në AI dhe ML” held in Korçë, co organized by Juna Xhelali and a member of our community. The aim was clear: give local youth a first structured encounter with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

What happened over the two days

The workshop took place at Korça Innovation Hub and combined theory with practice.

Day 1 focused on core concepts in AI and Machine Learning

Participants were introduced to key terms, basic model types, and how these systems are used in real applications.

Day 2 moved into hands on coding

Attendees worked through examples of fundamental machine learning models, seeing how data, code, and predictions connect in practice.

The group’s curiosity and active questions shaped the sessions, turning them into a real dialogue rather than a one way lecture.

Giving back to the local community

The initiative grew from a simple motivation: to give something back to the community in Korçë. By bringing introductory AI and ML content closer to young people, the organizers wanted to show that these topics are within reach, not only for large cities or foreign universities.

AI Albania joined as a collaborator, supporting the activity as part of its mission to spread AI understanding beyond Tirana and into regional hubs.
